Yum Yum Drums unites, uplifts, and inspires through the power of interactive drumming experiences.  These experiences are led by Master Percussionist Baye Kouyate.

Baye started playing the drums at the age of five in Bamako, Mali.  At the age of 15, Baye started touring and performing through West Africa, Europe and America. 

In Paris for five years, Baye shared his passion for drums with little people in partnership with the Association of Education and Culture of France.  When Baye relocated to New York he continued touring and performing with artists such as Mamadou Diabate, Vieux Farka Toure and as a solo artist with his own band, Les Tougarakes.

In 2006 Baye delivered a year long program in the New York Public Schools for Carnegie Hall. He has completed studio recordings for Pirates of the Carribbean and the children's cartoon series "The Backyardigans", as well as conducted workshops for Universities such as Hartwick College and the American Association of Teachers of French Rhode Island.

Whether leading individual sessions or group classes, Baye demonstrates that drumming can have a profound effect on one's emotional and spiritual well being. Building on his years of performing and teaching, Baye truly brings the power of the drum to life.
